Fill out the application form and submit the required documents.

For a safe and convenient service application, you may apply for electric service via Meralco Online.

You may also opt to avail of the services of private electrical contractors certified by Meralco (PECCBM) 2 . These contractors are third party service providers and electricians who are certified after complying with our technical standards, requirements and qualifications. They are also licensed by the Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board (PCAB).

Certified contractors can assist you with your electric service application requirements – from securing documentary requirements and submission to Meralco to installation of service entrance. Check out our list of certified contractors as of July 1, 2022.

  2. Electrical plan with Load Schedule, Single Line Diagram, and location sketch (signed and sealed by a Professional Electrical Engineer)
  3. Valid government ID of the customer and his representative
  4. Proof of ownership (Transfer Certificate of Title or Deed of Sale or Contract of Lease)
  5. BIR Certificate of Registration
  6. Certificate of Final Electrical Inspection 3

  3. Secretary's Certificate (authorized to sign the Meralco contract)

3 If you are required to provide a building permit in compliance with the Certificate of Final Electrical Inspection (CFEI), you need to secure a Power Line Operator (PLO) Certificate from Meralco. The PLO certificate is a requirement for the issuance of a building permit, as mandated by RA 11361 or the Anti-Obstruction of Power Lines (AOPL) Act. The PLO certificate is currently required in select LGUs only. To learn more about this new government requirement, click here.

Make sure to have complete requirements on-hand prior to application.

  2. Electrical Plan with Load Schedule, Single Line Diagram, and Location sketch (signed and sealed by a Professional Electrical Engineer).
  3. Valid Government ID of the customer and his representative
  4. Proof of ownership (Transfer Certificate of Title or Deed of Sale or Contract of Lease)
  5. BIR Certificate of Registration
  6. Certificate of Final Electrical Inspection (CFEI)

Additional Requirements for Corporations:

  1. SEC Registration with Articles of Incorporation
  2. Latest General Information Sheet (GIS)
  3. Secretary's Certificate (authorized to sign the Meralco contract)

Additional Requirement for Individual/Sole Proprietorship:

Business Permit or Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Permit

Upon submission of requirements, Meralco will review your application. A Biz Partner Manager will coordinate with you and/or your certified contractor for the next steps.

If you availed of the services of a private electrical contractor certified by Meralco, you are assured of shorter 4 average processing time for contract approval:

For Ordinary Service Application (includes service drop and meter installation only)

For Project Covered Application (includes 1-5 poles and transformer bank)

For Project Covered Application (with more than 5 poles and transformer bank)

Contract approvals include the application, submission of documents, assessment of electrical plan, design of Meralco facilities and contract preparation.

4 Shorter versus applications processed by contractors that are not certified

Submit Certificate of Final Electrical Inspection (CFEI) to Meralco and await energization.

Submit the CFEI and signed contract and pay the corresponding fees (bill deposit 5 , cash advance, and other fees, if any). After which, MeraIco will proceed with the installation of facilities necessary to energize your electric service.

If you availed of the services of a certified contractor, here is the average processing time for energization:

5 The bill deposit is computed based on your submitted electrical plan and is equivalent to your estimated one (1) month billing.

Step 3

Submit the CFEI to Meralco & Await Final Connection

Once the CFEI is submitted to Meralco, you will have to pay the corresponding fees (bill deposit and cash advance, if any) and submit the signed contract. After which, Meralco can begin the installation of facilities necessary to energize the electric service.

Average Processing Time to energize the service:

  1. Ordinary Service Applications (service drop and meter installation only) - 3 days
  2. Project Covered Applications (with pole/s and transformer bank) - 20 days

Note:
The bill deposit charged can be refunded* to the customer, including accumulated interest, under the following conditions:

  1. Pay your bills on time for 36 consecutive months.
  2. If the account is transferred to another owner/end user.
  3. Upon the termination of the service contract.


*As provided by the Distribution Services and Open Access Rules.
